About the Author
Bernard Foong is, first and foremost, a sensitivist. He finds nuance in everything. To experience the world he inhabits is an adventure which is mystical, childlike, and refreshing. He has a rare ability to create beauty in a unique fashion. His palettes have been material, paint, words, and human experiences. By Christine Maynard (screenwriter and novelist).
Bernard Tristan Foong, alias Young, is an accomplished fashion designer. After graduating from The Royal College of Art, London, England, he worked as an in-house bridal wear designer for Liberty’s of London for four years.
The Hong Kong Polytechnic/University offered Mr. Foong a fashion design professorship for the next six years. He was a founding member of The Hong Kong Fashion Designer’s Association; Consultant to numerous fashion companies in Hong Kong, ranging from lingerie, furs, womens-wear designs, to his specialty: romantic and ethereal bridal ensembles.
During his lecturing sojourn to the United States of America he was recruited by The University of Wisconsin-Madison as an associate fashion professor. He was also a visiting lecturer at The Minneapolis College of Art, Minnesota.
In 1994 to 1996, The Singapore Temasek Polytechnic recruited Mr. Foong to organize the school’s fashion design and merchandising department. He was also the acting fashion development manager for Parkson Grand department stores in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The designer was offered a scholarship to complete his Master in Theatre Costuming at The University of Hawaii in 1996. Since then he has made Hawaii his home. He resides on the beautiful island of Maui with his life partner of sixteen years, Mr. Walter Bissett, and their ‘Goddess’ daughter, Ms. Kali Durga (a fluffy Himalayan).
He is a full-time writer and has recently completed the second book in the saga, Unbridled, to be released soon. He is currently completing the third book in the saga.
