Book II – Unbridled

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000039_00024]

Unbridled is the sequel to Initiation – A provocative story about a boy who was initiated into a clandestine sexual society. He was spirited to the Middle East, from his UK boarding school. He attended the Bahriji School (Oasis,) in The United Arab Emirates in preparation for serving in Harems for the wealthy and elite.

It is also a love story between the young man, his ‘Big Brother’ and his ‘Valet’ who served as his chaperones and mentors during the boy’s Harem services.

This book follows the boy’s erotic and exotic adventures and experiences at his 2nd Arab Household Harem, the Sekham. He was an apprentice and model, for the household patriarch’s controversial photography project, “Sacred Sex in Sacred Places”.

The author’s experiences present facts that are truthful. Through these truths, which are often demonized by contemporary societies that deem such behaviors inappropriate, the author hopes to dispel condemnations and negativity which relate to his experiences.

There are 7 volumes in A Harem Boy’s Saga series.

Excerpts:

My Bidder & I

By the time the guests bid our host farewell, I was soaking in a luxurious bath at the Maktub. Andy, entering our bath chamber, announced that my highest bidder had summoned me to his suite. He was an overnight guest at Al Fayoum, a guest suite in the Sekham. Accompanying me to Al Fayoum, my Valet said, “I have a prognostication that your highest bidder is of Royal decent.” Before he could continue, we had arrived at the chamber’s large wooden entrance.

A burly Arab gentleman answered the door. Directing us into the beautifully decorated living room, he told us to wait as he proceeded to inform his Master of our arrival. A suave man in his early 30s entered wearing a white bathrobe. In perfect English he greeted Andy and me before leaning across to give my Valet a traditional nose rubbing salutation. When it came my turn, a whiff of eucalyptus greeted my nostrils as he lowered his nose to mine. What transpired next was beyond my comprehension; my bidder was tickling my nose with the tip of his tongue before savoring my delicate lips; tantalizing my boyish naiveté towards his masculine musculature. At once enchanted by the smell of fresh eucalyptus and intrigued by his beguiling protocol, I was breezed by such forwardness and at a loss for words. Releasing me, my bidder showed us to a comfortable sofa before he took the loveseat opposite my guardian and me.

He said smilingly, “Young man, you’re an excellent dancer. Will you to be my ‘private dancer’?”

I thanked him for the compliment and kept silent, not knowing how to respond to his request when he continued, “What’s your name?”

Before I could reply my guardian spoke on my behalf, “His name is Young, your Highness.”

Stunned by my Valet’s royal address I looked at him speechless while he continued, “Sir, my charge is at your service. Shall I leave the two of you and wait outside?”

My bidder spoke arbitrarily, “Stay! I’ll like you to do me a favor.”

Andy answered, “How may I be of service, your Highness?”

“Oh, you don’t have to be so formal. Address me as P, I know you are looking after Young and the Wazir told me the two of you are lovers. I like to watch you make love to this bacchá. It’ll arouse me greatly,” announced the Arab.

Before Andy could respond, P motioned me to sit by his side. Sitting close, he bends towards my neck and inhaled my adolescent aroma deeply, as if savoring the sweetness of a newborn. Whispering softly in my ear he uttered, “Ahh! The intoxicating beauty of youth as described by the prophet: ‘Round about them will serve, to them, boys (handsome) as pearls well-guarded’.” Gently nibbling my earlobes he eased his thirsty lips down my neck before sinking in his pearly fangs as if drawing delicious nectar like a honey bee. Intoxicated by my Master’s vampire guise, shocks of electric currents vibrated down my arching spine; I willingly offered my bacchá innocence to this erotic aristocrat for his inerrant enjoyment. French kisses filled my urgent provocation as his desires rendered me helpless, and Andy’s tantalizing riposte replaced my bidder’s sweet attraction. Laying me on the loveseat, P’s obsessive glare stirred my uninhibited longing for my lover’s unbridled manhood. Willingly I surrendered to my lover’s sensuality before his consecrated erection encased me in a cocoon of sacramental love. Our glowing auras merged into a halo of sexual unity, bonding our sacred Eucharist, igniting a fiery passion of unimaginable bliss and filling our bodies with flowing essence of milky love. P the voyeur, sat enamored, watching a love story unfold that was as old as the creation of man.

Seduced by our tantalizing nakedness, my bidder dared himself to enter our homoerotic realm – a realm that defied time and space and only Divine Providence was left to forfeit active participation. Nothing but our lustful releases could satisfy our overwhelming genital hunger; when the cocks crowed treis, we savored our afterglow from the rising sun. This Bacha Bazi was a splendid reminder of Mario, Andy and me floating on a private gondola in Venezia’s Grand Canal. I was already infatuated with my bidder before morning broke.

  1. The story of Young’s life journey really captivated me. He’s led an amazing life, rich in culture, love and experience.
I was so desperate to see if he reconnected with his valet Andy after all these years, that I kept sneaking off to read the book when I should have been working (I’m terrible I know).

Despite the subject matter there is also an innocence and naivety to this book, and I think this comes from Young himself, and not just the way he writes. It’s there in the way he tells you about some of the bad things that have happened (although thankfully, there were very few). But it appears most of all in the way he talks about love, especially with Andy. Even though there were multiple people involved in his experiences, I feel that the love he had with his valet was pure.

It really has opened my eyes to the different going’s on in the world and of how the other half live. I thought it may have shocked me, or ‘turned me off’. Instead I found my emotions riding a pleasant even keel throughout, as Young expertly takes you from past to present with ease.

I didn’t read book one, but I’m going to read that next, along with book three, as I have to see how things progress with the people that Young made contact with.
    A captivating read.

  2. Unbridled is the second installment in a series recalling the adventurous life of the author, Bernard Foong (aka Young). In this installment Young’s search for his lover/soulmate, Andy, whom he has not heard from in 40 years since their parting, sets off vivid memories of their life together. Young takes us to a world few of us know but get to experience through his smooth style and command of exquisite detail which is both visual and visceral. If you enjoy a memoire of a passionate, rich and exotic life, you’ll enjoy this book.

UNBRIDLED is book II of A Harem Boy’s Saga series. This book sets the stage for a tragedy between two otherwise inseparable soul-mates who parted ways by their life’s choices. On the author’s journey to find Andy, Young’s lover, Valet and Big-Brother; Young takes us through an intriguing, romantic and adventurous journey. Leaving the reader desiring for more and yearning for what will happen next, while on the author’s mission of finding his lover of more than 40 years – the last time they heard from one another. The memories that came with this search are full on romance and wild sexcapades that the reader could never imagine.

The story of a “Daltonbury Hall” Asian student recruited into the Enlightened Royal Oracle Society (E.R.O.S.), a clandestine society takes the reader through Europe, the Middle East, England, and the United States of America. This autobiography gets more interesting when Young was sent to the Middle East to serve in a male harem. During his adventurous journey he learned a lot about his sexuality and numerous aspects of life. The author traveled the world and had the opportunity to meet a variety of people from different walks of life, who were similar to him and he takes the reader along with him.

Book II of A Harem Boy’s Saga drove the reader through an explorative sexual culture that the average individual never knew existed. A gay sexual sub-culture that seldom cross a reader’s mind (i.e.: the mind or a sexually active hectrosexual person). UNBRIDLED also delve into the hidden Muslim culture, power and luxury that comes with the extremely wealthy elite. I, for one am looking forward to reading A Harem Boy’s Saga – book III – DEBAUCHERY.

  4. An Exotic~Erotic Life Described in Brilliant Rich Detail

Close your eyes and imagine a world vibrant with color, a banquet for the senses, exotic, erotic, a sumptuous indulgence fulfilling your every desire. Imagine it draped in beauty: beautiful fabrics, opulent jewelry, romantic locales from around the world where whatever you desire can be yours if you are a beautiful boy. Do that and you have entered the world of Bernard Foong who has chronicled his life in a series of books titled A Harem Boy’s Saga, an other-worldly lavish diary of a young boy indoctrinated into the world of a underground sexual society. As Westerners, we will be shocked by the revelations, the peek behind the secret veils, which would normally strike us as inappropriate, bordering abusive but quickly striped of our predisposed notions, we slip luxuriously into the world of lavish opulence and a love story of exciting proportions which is the author’s life. A very accomplished and talented designer, Mr. Foong uses his complete design palette to describe his life in elegant, flowing words richly and artistically strung together like opulent jewels to describe the canvas of his life in rich, vibrant, magnificent palatable color. Oh, to have lived such a life. The sheer read is a spectacular indulgence you dare not deny yourself.

  5. My reading of the first book in A Harem Boy’s Saga made me anticipate the second one eagerly, though I was unfortunately not able to read it as quickly as I wanted. It was definitely worth the wait, however. In the first book, we were introduced to the young man, the author himself, who described his life and experiences before being sent to a certain academy for young men.

In the second book, Unbridled, the writing was much stronger than in the first book but didn’t detract from the wonderful descriptive writing I had enjoyed in the first story. But where in the first story the boy Young grew up and learned about himself, in the second story he learned about love as much as he learned to explore his own feelings. Since I am a sucker for a good love story, this element hit the perfect note with me as a reader.

Another aspect of this story I enjoyed was the elements of fashion, one of Young’s passions, which he hinted at in the first book. In this book, however, he alternates the narrative of the past with the present day. I liked this literary device and it worked well with the story.

What I truly admire about this author is how he embraces who he is and revels in his experiences. I wish that more LGTB people were able to unflinchingly reveal themselves and be happy in their own skin. I understand our society has a long way to go before this is a real possibility, but it is authors such as Young who help pave the way for equality.

I’m interested in following the rest of Young’s story. I would like to find out where Young went next. Overall, this is a well written love story with some excellent descriptive writing that brings exotic locations, larger than life characters, and the world of fashion to life.

  6. Bernard Young writes an unvarnished memoir of his private life. As I read through his memories, I was struck by the feelings and emotion of the author shared in an eloquent way. I also appreciated the approach he took towards his relationships. In the retelling of his life experiences, Young brings the reader into his world and allows them to take a look from an entirely different perspective. I would recommend Unbridled and the other books in Bernard’s memoirs to any reader who wants to expand their perspective.

  7. I think these should be named “The Chronicles of a Harem Boy’, but unlike the journey to Narnia thru a wardrobe, Unbridled takes me back to the very real world of a male harem as seen thru the eyes of a young man. This love story continues to unfold and grow as Young’s relationship with Andy deepens and matures.

Unbridled continues to push, no break, the boundaries of Western Civilization beliefs. A coffee table book called “Sacred Sex in Sacred Places”? Just the name gives me chicken skin. Youngs’ adventures as a gay male mode unveils the religious hypocrisy that has bound and judged too many for too long. I personally hope that the truth revealed here will continue to break the stereotypes that lead to so much fear and hatred in our world.

This book continues the shock and awe started in the first volume, Initiation, pushes all my boundaries and stretches my mind. Most of all it makes me love this young man who is so openly sharing such an intimate part of his life. If nothing else, reading Unbridled once again shows me that the beliefs I grew up with were learned, not innate, and that it’s ok to continue growing and learning – no matter how old I am.

Mahalo for entertaining, educating and amazing me!

  8. OMG…Steaming Hot…Where in book one we were charmed by the authors innocents and naivete, we are smitten by the loving and romantic relationship between he and his Mentor/heartthrob big brother whom he travels with and who protects him from any harm. I feel the author has matured along with his second book in the the series, and his descriptions of life in the Harem have matured as well. If you are worried that book II will be a let down after book I, fear not. You are in for another exciting and provocative good read.

  9. Unbridled (A Harem Boy’s Saga Book 2) by Young is an erotic tale of a young boy’s experience in a secret sexual society. The story chronicle’s the boy’s travels through the Middle East and his adventures as he prepares to serve in the Harems of the rich and titled. He is accompanied on his journey by his “Big Brother” and chaperone that he adores. Their love story as they explore the sacred sites of Europe and the United States for a photo project entitled, “Sacred Sex in Sacred Places” is both enthralling and irreverent. The author does a wonderful job describing the sites and historical significance of the sites.
The boy’s role as a model for the film and the sexual escapades he finds himself involved in touch on many of societies taboos. The light that the author shines on these issues challenges conventional thinking and leads the reader to a more open minded conclusion. It is hard not to like the boy and his two BB’s (best friends) and to care about what happens to them. The author skillful weaves his story and leave the reader wondering and anticipating the next book in the series. A thoroughly enjoyable read and an author I will follow.

  10. I have just read Unbridled: Book II in Bernard Foong’s (Young’s) memoir series titled A Harem Boy’s Saga. This is a continuation of Book I: Initation, which continues the story of Bernard’s life in a British boarding school, focusing this time on his three month stay at his second Arab household, the Sekham. It is here where Young spends his first long term time with Andy, his new big brother, valet, and mentor. And starts the beginning of their four year relationship of love, trust, and understanding.

The three months are busy, as Young and Andy get involved in a project called “Sacred Sex in Sacred Places”, a photographic study. The project takes them to Rome, Paris, Las Vegas, and Hollywood, among other places, for photo sessions amongst the ruins and in sacred buildings. It also allows Young to explore one of the passions of his life: fashion. He gets to meet and talk to many fashion designers of the day, which inflames his desire to become one himself.

All travel, lodging, and food are provided for by the Arab household. They get to use private airplanes and yachts. The newly acquired monies of the Arab oil boom fuel extravagant lifestyles for the two boys, along with their Arab entourage. Life is exciting, educational, playful, and meaningful for all involved.

Bernard adds a new level to Unbridled, which is not in Initiation. In addition to the wonderful narrative which describes Young’s life over forty years ago, Bernard also writes about the present, on why he has taken on his project, what he expects to get out of it, and whom from his past he expects to reacquaint himself with. Using the internet as his resource, he contacts many people from his past, including Oscar, a fellow student and lover. Ultimately, he is looking for Andy, with whom he has had no contact for those many years. Eventually Andy is located and contact is made via the internet. Warm emails of affection and remembrance are exchanged. Will they eventually meet up? Apparently it hasn’t happened yet.

Book II continues with the same flowing, exuberant writing style as Book I. Book III: Debauchery has just come out, and I am eager to read it. And I hear the Book IV has been started, with Andy doing some collaboration with Bernard in the writing.

This is a wonderful series of books about the love of a young gay man for his big brother and mentor. Well written, provocative, and full of life, I highly recommend it to you.

  11. “A Harem Boy’s Saga” is Young’s memoir in seven volume. I reviewed the first some time ago and now we have the second volume. I can only imagine how daunting it might be to have enough to write about to fill seven volumes, especially when there is not a dull moment or an unneeded sentence in any of what I have read.

This is the story of a boy who was initiated into a secret sex society… Continue reading full in depth review at http://reviewsbyamoslassen.com/?p=31451

  13. Andy with his hand in the foreground of the photo is moving beyond words. Your physique exquisite. The images beautiful. The story fascinating. The sensitivity profound. The artist, you, exceptional. Thanks for sharing, Bernard. I am excited for your success, here the butterfly is freed from its cocoon. Keep on creating! You can soar!

  14. As to your amazement how much women liked the book ….I can certainly answer the question; probably only gay men would like the book … the rest would be homophobic. But women ….ah women …. might be curious …but above all I think they are more open, accepting and understand love is love no matter with whom or why or where. Women are the keepers of life and emotion, I think, by and large and they “get it”! Aloha!

  15. 4 out of 5 stars Unique Memoir Spans Countries and Cultures

“A Harem Boy’s Saga: Initiation” is the first volume of a series in which the author recalls his life, from his birth in Malaysia to his career as a fashion designer and then writer.

Young is born into a wealthy family in Kuala Lumpur; though his doting mother longed for a daughter, she nevertheless loves her third son, who early on shows a predilection for crocheting, ballet, and fashion. His relationship with his father is not as smooth–his father is a successful businessman but a bad husband, given to infidelity and coldness toward his family. When Young is caught in a sexual encounter with another local boy, Young is shipped off to boarding school by his angry and embarrassed father.

What his father can’t know is that by sending Young to boarding school, he’s giving his son an opportunity to join the Enlightened Royal Oracle Society (E.R.O.S.), which trains young men in the art of sexuality and sensuality and basically apprentices them in harems in the Arab Emirates. In addition to a traditional education, Young also begins a carnal education, one that exposes him to new countries, new cultures, and new ways of thought and life.

I enjoy reading memoirs about life in other countries, and learning about different upbringings and cultures than mine, so I enjoyed this book. Young’s childhood and experiences in the Arab Emirates were fascinating and well-written; he has an excellent way of recalling small details that make the scene real to the reader. I will say, though, that if a reader is offended by graphic sexual scenes, especially those involving same-sex love, then this book will not be the best pick, though it’s obvious the graphic scenes exist more to further the plot and explain Young’s coming of age than to titillate the reader.
